GETTING TO KNOW ME
As an experienced fine artist, I specialize in bringing landscapes and people to life through paint. With my impressionist style and use of rich colors, my paintings invite you to walk into the scene and relive the most treasured moment from your wedding day!
My journey with art began at the age of 3 with my “arts and craft” shoebox, and continued through college in Massachusetts where I earned a degree in Art History at Wheaton College, before continuing on to study fine art at The School of the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and the Rhode Island School of Design in Providence, Rhode Island, finishing with the equivalent of a B.F.A. in painting. My travels to Europe, especially to Italy, and to Bermuda, the West, North Africa, Cape Cod and Newport RI, to mention a few, opened my eyes to the endless opportunities to create art.
Art as a career began later in life, after raising kids and working in various industries that just weren’t my cup of tea. A move to St. Louis inspired me to open my first studio, offering paint and sip parties and fine art lessons. The move back to Vermont four years later made me decide to include Live Event Wedding Painting in my repertoire. I loved the idea of creating uniquely personal pieces of art that depict such a life-changing day for a couple: where you were, the way you looked, and the way you felt all captured on canvas. Process:
- Pick a date, then fill out our inquiry form or call Kate to check availability
- Choose a painting from our website or ask us to create a signature painting
- Private and corporate parties require a 10 person minimum. We arrive approximately 45 min to one hour early to set up, and require one half hour to break down.
For parties outside the Manchester, VT area there will be small travel and set up fee
